The RAD-2 Shock Mount has hoops that are slightly stiffer than the RAD-1 and have an extra bracing design to be used with slip-on windscreens on the front, such as a Nimbus or other 'deadcat' style windscreen. This allows the RAD-2 shock mounts to handle the extra weight to be put on the front of mics whilst preventing sagging. Each mount has universal clips to fit microphones 19-25mm in diameter and comes with standard hoops (black colour) and soft hoops (light blue colour).
The RAD-2 Shock Mounts are designed for for use with standard length shotgun
microphones and small condenser pencil microphones with slide-on fur
windshields on the front. It provides exceptional isolation from movement,
handling noise and other vibrations associated with booming. The mount has
soft-coated universal mic clips to fit any mic 19-25mm in diameter. Each mount
includes a pair of standard firmness hoops (black) and a pair of softer hoops
(light blue).
The RAD-2 hoops are slightly thicker than RAD-1 hoops and have
an extra 3mm of bracing on top to hold the extra weight of front-heavy
microphones. All of the components are produced using virtually indestructible
thermoplastic elastomers from high-precision injection moulding in an ISO-9000
certified factory (no 3D printing here). The RAD Shock Mounts are made in
England.
