Product number: K005428

The Nextel black Neumann KM 184 A nx Miniature Microphone is a small-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone that offers premium Neumann sound that's both open and musical. It is great for solo instruments, ensemble, and spot miking as well as broadcast environments and stereo ambient recordings. This is a stereo package.

The KM 180 series microphones feature the modular KM A output stage, which allows the capsule to be detached and used at a distance from the output stage of up to 330' and using an optional special cable.

The transformerless circuitry and balanced output result in high-output gain with a very-low-noise floor and no coloration to the output signal. The KM 184 is powered via +48V phantom power. Its 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response provides flexibility for use in a wide range of recording situations. The KM 184's cardioid polar pattern provides a targeted pickup area and handles sound-pressure levels up to 138 dB, allowing fairly close miking of instruments. The KM 184 A nx includes the WNS 100 windscreen, SG 21 bk stand-mount swivel, and a wooden box.

Cardioid Polar Pattern
The cardioid polar pattern effectively isolates signal source.
KM A-Based Output Stage
The KM A system works with passive capsules, which are considerably smaller while retaining the proven acoustic design. Advanced electronic components allow for many electroacoustic and operational advantages, such as reduced self-noise, an extended dynamic range, and very-high electromagnetic immunity.
Maximum Flexibility
The Neumann system KM A is a modular microphone system for even the most demanding applications. Eight different small-diaphragm capsules (KK 120 … KK 185) may be combined with the analog output stage.
Output Stage
The analog, transformerless output stage KM A operates with P48 phantom power. A switchable -10 dB pre-attenuation allows for sound pressure levels of up to 148 dB (152 depending on optional capsule type) without distortion artifacts.
